10 October 2026 - LION is born!

I think it would be fair to say LION was born today. This is because our first ever donation arrived in our bank account! Forget the fact I am still wrestling with Natwest BANKLINE’s lost card reader and pin and cannot actually access it! But nonetheless, we can celebrate that someone outside the tiny circle of me, Hazel and Jackie read our testimonials and decided to hand over £1000!!!!

I don’t know if there is another animal that takes 30 months to gestate before it comes bloodied and squealing into the world, but if there is, LION has a twin! Nearly 30 months ago, I started seeing my first care-experienced person. She taught me the value of recognising that when someone doesn’t turn up regularly, there is probably some substance abuse going on and that was a helpful thing to learn.

Talking of learning, I think I have just slid down the first side of the Dunning Kruger curve. I suddenly realise quite how little I know and how much there is to learn about trying to turn what I have been doing privately, in my consulting room, into something that can be scaled effectively and reliably.
