Become a LION Therapist
If you are 5+ years qualified and a fully-accredited member of either the British Psychoanalytic Council or the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and you would like to be referred a LION client, then please email annie@liontherapy.org with evidence of your certification, a brief bio of your experience and a short note describing your previous experience working in a trauma-informed fashion with clients suffering from Complex PTSD.
You will be expected to be able to undertake an extended assessment of any LION client referred to you, who will have filled out a questionnaire with some background information, before they are given your email. LION recommends undertaking an extended assessment of at least two sessions to ensure the client is ready, both practically and psychologically, before entering into a contract to work with you for up to three years. LION will not pay for sessions you do during your assessment period, but only once you have agreed to contract with your client and your signed agreement between the two of you has been received by LION. You will be clinically responsible for your LION client under your own professional indemnity insurance and will be expected to abide by the Ethics of your own Accredited Registrant Body.
LION will pay you £50 per session for your work with your LION client and you will be expected to submit an invoice each month along with the results of your Assessment Questionnaire and client attendance data to LION Therapy CIC. LION will fund 40 sessions per year, a maximum of 120 sessions in total. Should your client not attend 3 sessions in a row, you will not be able to bill LION for subsequent sessions until your client has turned up to 3 sessions in a row. This is to ensure LION funds are not being wasted by clients who are not reliably turning up to their sessions.
You will be offered a monthly group supervision with a LION supervisor (either Dr. Carine Minne or Dr. Gwen Adshead) and benefit from hearing other LION therapist’s presentations each week. Should you have concerns about your client outside of this supervision time, you would be able to be in touch with your supervisor via email.
If you would like to be referred a LION client, then please email annie@liontherapy.org.
